< JUNE 16, 2010 | MILANO STADT KRONE 2030 EXHIBITION OPENS AT THE POLITECNICO DI MILANO FEATURING 12 PROJECTS INCLUDING STUDIO SHIFT'S "FARM THE GAP" PROJECT.

The exhibition features 12 proposals commissioned by the Architectural and Urban Forum (AUFO) of Milano, with support from the Comune di Milano, located on the periphery of the historic city center offering conceptual solutions for the densification of Milano. Each proposal injects 25,000 inhabitants into the existing fabric of Milano for a total population increase of 300,000. The exhibition opens June 16, 2010 at the Politecnico di Milano and runs through June 30, 2010 in the spazio mostre Guido Nardi - Politecnico di Milano (via Ampere, 2).



< APRIL 12, 2010 | UCLA'S ALUMNI EXHIBITION, "PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE" OPENS FEATURING TWO PROJECTS BY STUDIO SHIFT

As an alumnus of UCLA, firm president, Mario Cipresso had two projects selected to the UCLA Alumni Exhibit. The impressive work of multiple generations of Los Angeles architects was on display. In attendance were several icons of Los Angeles architecture including Thom Mayne.



< MARCH, 2010 | STUDIO SHIFT'S MARIO CIPRESSO PARTICIPATES AS A JURY PANEL MEMBER FOR THE EVOLO 2010 SKYSCRAPER COMPETITION.

The 2010 edition of eVolo's popular skyscraper competition received 427 entries from 42 countries. 3 winners were chosen (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) and 27 honorable mentions were awarded. The final jury panel consisted of: Mario Cipresso, Kyu Ho Chun, Kenta Fukunishi, Elie Gamburg, Mitchell Joachim, JaeYoung Lee, Adelaïde Marchi, Nicola Marchi and Eric Vergne. < DECEMBER 17, 2009 | STUDIO SHIFT PRESENTS CONCEPT DESIGNS FOR FOUR BUILDINGS IN THE SICHUAN PROVINCE

In mid-December we presented four conceptual designs on-site in Miyi, Sichuan Province, China along with landscape architect SWA Group and engineering firm Arup Shanghai. Studio Shift's work included the designs for an aquatic recreation center, a multi-venue sports facility, a recreational retail center and a revised design for the Miyi Cultural Tower. The schematic design phase is anticipated to begin in January, 2010.



< OCTOBER 20, 2009 | DESIGN BEGINS ON EAST 5TH HUB FASHION RETAIL PROTOTYPE WITH JACK FONG ARCHITECTS & DECON GROUP

Studio Shift, in collaboration with Jack F.P. Fong Architects and Decon Group, led the creative design effort for new fashion retail outfit, East 5th Hub of Los Angeles. The design is the basis for a national rollout of high-end denim based retail stores featuring designs by noted designer Kevin Chen of MEK.



< JULY 29, 2009 | WORLD SUSTAINABILITY CENTRE COMPETITION ENTRY SHIPS OUT

Our entry into the World Sustainability Centre Competition at Afsluitdijk, Netherlands has been sent on its way. Judging is scheduled for early September and an announcement is planned for early October.

Studio Shift received an honorable mention in the international competition for the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control.
